Blogger of the Week: Megan Ellaby from Whats New Pussycat

Even androgynous wardrobes can handle a hit of pink, right? Our Blogger of the Week Megan Ellaby from Whats New Pussycat shows you how. This Manchester based beauty knows the fashion industry and definitely knows how to work high-end trends into her everyday wardrobe. With only one colour pop in mind, this seasons mighty pink just got an edgy makeover…

As a self confessed androgynous lover and all things leather, denim and tailored, when the whole pink trend hit the catwalks and the pages of all the monthly glossies I laughed to myself “yeah right” that was one trend I was not going to divulge into.

Low and behold 6 months later and that so called, pink trend is one of my favorites of the season. If someone would have told me a year ago that I’d be rocking an oversized flamingo pink coat, I would have laughed in their face, yet here I am rocking said coat, each and every day of the week.

Typically, the only pink item in my possession is a toothbrush, I don’t know what it is, but if my toothbrush aint pink, it’s not coming in; but this years colour of the season connotes happiness and a slight youthful vibe, an addition to my wardrobe that I just love! It is the perfect shade to give a fairly dull and basic masculine look a bit of Pizzazz.

Usually I love nothing more than teaming black leather with black denim all topped off with a black boot and black bag, however, this season a pink coat has become my staple, opting for not one but two, the latter in more of the pastel pink shade that has taken the blogosphere and fashion world by storm.

With the introduction of a pink coat came the odd pink jumper, from the pink jumper came a neon pink two set and before I knew it, my pink items were seriously adding up. I now have a section of my wardrobe, amongst the blacks, navy’s, whites and reds devoted to all things pink, something I never thought I’d be saying.

Us either Megan, but the pink revolution has most definitely happened. From fuchsia to pastel and from Urban Outfitters to ASOS, the high street knows how to colour pop your wardrobe. Now lets get shopping!
