As we sit at our desks this cold and wet Monday morning, we can’t help but feel the glamour of the weekend’s Scottish Style Awards has all too quickly eluded us. In the merest of flashes the glitz, glam and panache of the night seem almost a dream. Did we really interview Nina Nesbitt? Pap some of our besties on the red carpet as they were named Scotland’s hottest new design talent? Sip champagne with Noel Gallagher?! Were it not for the photographs we’d feel sure the entire night was nothing more than a delightful reverie; as is, we spent most of yesterday poring over the snaps and trying to decide whose look we had the most love for. Today, we’re rounding up our selection of the red carpet’s most stylish and helping you re-create the look. For anyone who couldn’t be there- hells, if you can’t make it at least you can fake it…
Catriona MacAllister rocks a fresh look
First up, we couldn’t help but adore our bestie Catriona MacAllister in her white shift dress/ sheer organza top combo. Beautiful, fresh and tastefully unique, it’s the perfect outfit for those special Christmas occasions we can see beckoning from the not too distant horizon. Work our take on the trend by combining this unusual Boohoo flower mesh wonder with a classic white shift from ASOS. Throw in your most gorgeous of shoes and you’ll have the look nailed.
Deetz luvvies dish up Winter florals
Another favourite was the Deetz girls, proving that not only can a classic shirt/ pencil skirt/ court shoe combo be an absolute red carpet winner, but also that our favourite floral dress is more than suitable for a Winter occasion. Simply kick on your fiercest of boots, grab an oversized clutch and you’ll be good to go. Check out this gorgeous Missguided floral lace dress for a pretty take on the trend.
Sara MacDonald sizzles in Christopher Kane
Noel Gallagher’s other half and undeniable lady of the night, Sara MacDonald, utterly shone in her velvet Christopher Kane showstopper. Recreate the look with a sultry off the shoulder top, such as this Minkpink Bardot top from Urban Outfitters. If you’d rather channel the detailing of MacDonald’s look, plump for this Staring at Stars embroidered crop top, also from Urban Outfitters. Either would look sensational with a high waisted velvet skirt and barely there sandals; Noel Gallagher lookalike optional…
Arielle Free’s blooming marvellous two piece
The ever gorgeous Arielle Free proved a two piece is very much still a trend to buy into; splash out on this floral jacquard delight from Boutique by Jaeger for an outfit to see you through many seasons to come. Wear as a two piece now then team the trousers with anything from a crisp white tee to a chunky knit, and the top with block coloured bottoms. Cost per wear? Phenomenal.
Nina Nesbitt’s perfectly accessorised leather
Finally, if you’re looking for a cute high street look to see you through every possible festive fashion requirement, channel Nina Nesbitt’s low key/ high impact look. Jazz up a loose leather shift with your favourite statement necklace, perfectly angled fedora and the cutest of patterned tights. This Miss Selfridge black leather shift with exposed zip fits the bill perfectly.
