Sales Assistant Style Insights

Name: Rebecca McCalden

Position: Part time Sales Assistant, Office

How would you describe your personal style? I get most of my style ideas from magazines and from mannequins in other retailers. I love walking around the shops and getting ideas from all the different stores.

Who is your style icon? Marilyn Monroe, but for work I dress more casual

What are your favourite pieces this season? I love the wedges we have in. We keep getting more and more pairs in, I just hope the weather is nice enough to wear them, as some of them are suede and would get ruined in the rain.

Absolutely love the colour of these wedges, and can see why they are a good seller. I would recommend wearing them with a short playsuit, shorts or dress, or skinny jeans and a blazer if its a bit colder.

These shoes would be perfect to wear to a wedding, or any formal event, as they may be just a bit too pale in colour to wear on a night out (sensible thinking tells us suede ruins easily). They also come in black though, so if you thought they may get dirty, you could go for those ones. The bow is so cute and we think they would match any dressy outfit.

These monochrome wedges are fun, stylish and plain cool. Teamed with a tan, skinnies, a dress, whatever you like, these will stand out and make a statement.

Have you ever had any bad retail experiences?

I haven’t had any bad experiences as a member of staff, but I hate when I go into shops and the staff don’t acknowledge you or offer good customer service. Everyone likes some help when they shop.

We couldn’t agree more Rebecca, and that’s why Mallzee like to offer shopping tips and style advice everyday on our fashion blog. Check out out interview with Nadine Hawkins, the Editor of No.1, Scotland’s  leading fashion magazine – she knows her stuff and has helpful hints if you one day dream of working at a magazine.
