Monsoon come up trumps for trophy jackets

Ooft- we do love it when our beloved high street utterly nails a trend. Zara with your skorts and Topshop with your skater dresses; we’re thinking of you. High street heroes, perfectly tuned into our sartorial needs. On occasion, they even have the power to make you desire something you never even thought you needed. We thought we had everything to see us through this tricky mid-season time of year in style; then- bang. Along comes Monsoon, sneaking up on us without rhyme nor reason. Their perfectly designed selection of trophy jackets are, perhaps surprisingly, some of the best we’ve seen. From traditional Ikat prints to florals and embellishment- each piece is strong enough to stand perfectly alongside your favourite skinny jeans and a t-shirt. Perfect transitional dressing, we think we’ve found you…

The Mathilde print jacket, with it’s classic meets quirky design features, is a firm favourite; keep the rest of your outfit simple to let it truly shine. The ornate red, gold and pewter detailing works with most colourways whilst the silhouette is lusciously neat. Team with boyfriend jeans and heels for a new season update or keep things classic by picking a colour from the print and blocking the rest of your outfit around this.

Banging beaded jackets

If beading’s your thing, there are a fair few beauties to choose from. The Verity jacket comes in a vibrant Aztec print and is perfect for lifting a fairly minimal outfit. Pair with stacks of brightly coloured bangles and a long pendant for a beautifully boho vive; footwear optional.

For something extra special, the Ivonne jacket has a metallic thread woven through it to notch up the glitz. The paisley inspired print is dainty yet punchy- always a winning combination. Wear through the day for casual glam-a-rama.

More of a floral lover? We suggest the botanical blazer with it’s eye catching, primary colour print. The shawl collar is gorgeously elegant whilst the 3/4 sleeve keeps things casual; perfect with everything from a block colour dress to a fail safe trouser/ vest look.

Finally, if you’re really not a fan of jackets, the Harlow waterfall cardigan might just win it for you. Monochrome minus the bold statement, this is the piece to pick for casual weekend wear. Chic with a head to toe black outfit, it adds interest to an otherwise simple look, keeping you warm and stylish with little effort.

It IS acceptable to buy five new season jackets, right??
