Khaki leads the charge for A/W14

Stand to attention- khaki is well and truly back on the front line of fashion for A/W. The Balmain army lead the charge, their hip-hop safari style more than ready to take on life in the big city. Hailed by many as “the new neutral”, the hue is blissfully simple to match with and flattering against near on every possible skin tone. Wear day or night, to defuse a show stopping evening look or pull together haphazard daywear seperates. Were more proof needed, just look to the fellow designers following in Olivier Rousteing’s hallowed steps. From T by Alexander Wang’s 3/4 length coat to Anya Hindmarch’s Vaughan bucket bag and Raquel Allegra’s harem pants- all were a vision in khaki. Part army surplus, part utilitarian staple, this wonder shade more than deserves to be promoted up the fashion ranks for fall.
