This Sunday our Blogger of the Week spot goes to Girl Meets Dress co-founder Anna Bance, who talks us through her love of Swedish brand Acne

Girl Meets Dress

Girl Meets Dress love Acne

It was another wet start to the day in London – typical, when I decide to wear my stunning Acne dress to the office. Only an umbrella could save me as I teetered into work. This dress is from the Acne Cruise Collection. It’s delicate with an open back and hangs off the body beautifully. Acne always seem to get it right, which is why they’ve become one of the top brands in the UK. Acne adapts the dress to offer an attitude-ridden alternative to body-conscious silhouettes. The draped detail creeps around to the skirt, giving the electric blue dress personality. I love the way Acne played around with detailing and added buttoned cuffs which you wouldn’t usually see on full sleeve dresses. They say blue evokes sadness (and I was definitely heading towards that way with the morning rain) but then why is it such a popular colour? I think blue evokes freedom and is perfect for a summer palette. This dress can be worn to a party or wedding, and the lightweight polyester material means you won’t get too hot. I teamed the look with floral shoes as bold colours deserve to be complemented with prints.

At Girl Meets Dress we’ve got tons of designer brands, like Acne, all available to hire from £29 for 2 nights. Being able to rent designer dresses such as Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and Miu Miu for a fraction of the retail price is a great way to save money. It’s also great when you’ve got lots of weddings coming up – guests are sure to overlap and you can’t be seen wearing the same dress twice! When else are you going to get the chance to wear a £1,000 Herve Leger dress for £129? We’re always launching new designer dresses to hire – this week we introduced a few pieces from Miu Miu and Burberry. It’s like we’re your new best friend who lets you borrow all their designer dresses!

When it comes to dresses I think you can never have enough. The Acne Adelle Tape dress is a great way to add colour to your outfit. Be daring, be bold! Luckily enough for me the weather cleared up and I was able to go outside and have a little photo in my dress. I think my blue dress brought out the blue skies!
