Amidst all the week’s most frantic of happenings, there was one story which stopped most in their tracks- the passing of Bob Geldof’s daughter, Peaches, at age 25. The former presenter and journalist’s death is being treated as “unexplained and sudden” by police. To date, post mortem examinations have drawn “inconclusive” results as to the cause of death. Her father, Bob Geldof, and husband, Thomas Cohen, made the following statements in light of the tragic news:
Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.
My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day. We shall love her forever. Thomas, Astala and Phaedra Geldof-Cohen.
In happier news, this week saw the announcement by Tom Ford that he has married his partner of 27 years, Richard Buckley. In typically understated Ford fashion, the designer was quoted as saying: “we are married now, which is nice”. Cutie.
Another couple very much on show this week were Kate and Wills, who continue their tour of New Zealand with baby George in tow. Kate knocked it out the park in a stunning array of styles from McQueen, Jenny Packham and Tory Burch. She then went on to “eek” over Wills’ dashing attempt to mount a WWII fighter plane. GSOH, Duchess.
Luck be a lady… or Jimmy Kimmel
We’re voting Jimmy Kimmel as the world’s luckiest man this week after landing a smooch with Johnny Depp whilst the actor was on Kimmel’s talk show to promote his latest film. Paul Bettany went on to follow suit, with a somewhat more reserved attempt…
Killer fashion campaigns
Following on from the unveiling of the full Kate Moss for Topshop campaign, we’ve been craving some serious hits of beautiful fashion imagery this week. Luckily, Michelle Willaims for Louis Vuitton and Alice Dellal have been on board to satisfy our lust. Check out their latest looks below.
Finally, we’re more than happy to bring to you this week the latest Gucci campaign video featuring James Franco. What to make of him? From outstanding Broadway performances (Of Mice and Men), to the rather more ludicrous (Spring Breakers) to some very questionable shenanigans (Instagram, anyone?), we’re damn sure we’ll never really know the true James Franco. For now, this open mouthed, smouldering version will do us nicely, thanks…
