Yes, we may soon have to face the beginning of yet another working week but to make those last few hours of freedom all the more sweet, boy oh boy do we have a corker of a Blogger of the Week to tickle your pickle! The ever delightfully dressed Charissa Rae takes the Mallzee Blog reins this week as she chats about everyone’s current favourite trend, tartan…
Hello there! I’m Charissa from www.charissarae.com and I’m featuring on Mallzee just to have a wee chat with you about one of my outfits I’ve really liked wearing recently and also how I think tartan can be worn in other ways too if you aren’t feeling as brave.
Even though tartan has been a staple A/W 13 trend for a while now, I’m actually quite late on the bandwagon. I’ve only really been getting myself some pieces over the last couple of weeks here and there. The dress I’m wearing in this outfit post is from BANK fashion and it’s a nice fitted shape which means it can be dressed up a little bit easier than if I was wearing perhaps a tartan smock dress instead. When you think of tartan you think one of two things; punk, or a patriotic Scot. I thought I’d continue channeling more of a grunge look so I paired it with some big chunky boots (also from BANK) which are the comfiest things ever and just add a little bit of height to my teeny legs.
Even though this look makes tartan the focus there are other ways I have been able to incorporate it into my outfits. I started off with a scarf, then a t-shirt and then after a while decided to go all out, such as when I popped this dress on. If you are interested I have another recent post on my blog where I’m wearing a lovely tartan shawl which is perfect for days when it’s a little colder and it’s so easy to wear with just a plain outfit and make it that little bit more interesting. Plus it was a total bargain at £10!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading. Don’t be a stranger and let me know if you have any comments on my twitter @CRMcAneny or instagram @charissarae!
