We’re huge fans of Aim Above Limits, when did you start blogging and what got you into it?
Thank you! I started Aim Above Limits about 18 months ago and it’s crazy to see just how far the blog has come in that time. I originally got into it to gain a creative release from the pressures of academic university life, but now I genuinely have such a love and passion for it.
Describe your style in 3 words…
Oh goodness. My style changes day to day! Most of the time there is normally some element of monochrome in my outfit, as well as something quite tailored. I love to layer, as well. So I guess, monochrome, tailoring and layered!
Who is your biggest style crush?
Biggest style crush would have to be Alexa Chung.
Your style has been featured in the likes of Vogue and Look magazine, what advice would you give to bloggers about getting themselves features like this?
When I was featured on LOOK and Vogue, it was the biggest surprise ever! What I would say to newbie bloggers is, don’t give up. Keep posting your outfit pictures, and post them as many places as possible. Someone will fall in love with your style!
Being a student, how do you balance studying and blogging? Do you still have time to enjoy the student social life?
Being a student, finding a balance between university and blogging can sometimes be hard. At the moment, I’m studying for my finals, so the balance between blogging and revision is somewhat easier – whenever I need a quick break, I will go out and shoot some outfit photos, or write a quick wish list post. Being a third year, I have had little time for socialising anyway! But, my blog is a welcome release.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about blogging?
Networking is crucial. Being such a sociable person, talking to people, even via email is not hard for me. I love finding out the history of brands, their concepts and their aims for the future. I didn’t get into blogging for the samples or gifts, I did it because I love discovering new brands and helping them gain the exposure they deserve. Blogging isn’t as easy as it appears to be – it’s very time consuming, and at times can be hard work – especially if you receive a negative comment! But if you love it enough, that doesn’t really matter. The blogging community is so lovely, that you will always have support.
If you could shop with anyone, past or present, who would it be and why?
If I could shop with anyone it would have to be my dear old Mum. I love her dearly, but I would love to take her out and about shopping and really treat her to things that she wouldn’t try or wouldn’t buy for herself!
Finally, we’ve all had them..what’s your biggest fashion disaster?
Oh goodness. Biggest fashion disaster.. A couple of years back I thought it would be a fab idea to wear red denim hot pant shorts from Topshop. They definitely weren’t fab and I sincerely regret my actions. Sorry, World.
