In this week’s Sales Assistant Session we interviewed Nicola from Accessorize, who gives us an insight into what is most popular this season, and what the most exciting pieces in the store are…

Sales Assistant Style Insights – Accessorize

Name: Nicola Smeaton

Position: Full time Sales Assistant in Accessorize and Monsoon

How would you describe your personal style? I like to wear printed pieces, especially dresses and scarves, and I like to mix the prints. Eclectic print clashing is one of my favourite looks at the moment.

Who is your style icon? I don’t really have a style icon as such, I tend to take inspiration from everyone. I studied Fashion and Textile Design at university so learned to analyse catwalks and different designers, so I take ideas from there.

What are your favourite pieces this season? I love the floral statement necklaces, the pastel colours and the 3D textile bags. They are all really popular and I can see why – they are colourful and all make an individual statement.

Have you ever had any bad retail experiences? I think the worst experience I have had working in retail when recently a customer went off her head shouting at me because of a mis print on a label on one of the dresses, which said the dress was made of a different material. Of course it was not my fault, but yet I got shouted at – not my favourite shift!

Ah yes Nicola sometimes working in retail can be challenging, but getting to see all the new stock (not to mention a good staff discount) makes the job seem more bearable on other days.

Don’t forget to check out the Fash Pack Interview tomorrow with a up and coming fashion designer – find out how she made herself known in tomorrow’s post.

if this is actually the best place to ask but do you guys have any thoughts on where to employ
