This Sunday our Blogger of the Week is the gorgeous Hannah Crosskey of A Fashion Fix; we’re LOVING her take on monochrome, perfect for those last heady Summer days and nights…
A Fashion Fix monochrome dream
Are you a lover of all things monochrome? This colour combo has been a big deal since Louis Vuitton, Jill Sander and Marc Jacobs debuted their collections last year. Monochrome isn’t going anywhere!
Scrolling through the Motel website I knew instantly this 60’s inspired two piece was to be mine, If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I have such a weakness for a matching set! The oversized checkerboard print just screams Louis Vuitton! (and well, If its good enough for RiRi to grace the cover of Elle mag then it’s good enough for me!)
The set includes a crop top with a contrasting short sleeved turtle neck and an ultra short mini skirt featuring an exposed zip to the back. When I say ultra short I mean the fact that I am only 5″3 and It only just skims my bum means anyone with a slight bit of height should definitely think about going up a size! Apart from the bum skimming nature of the skirt I can’t fault it. It is extremely well made and because of the thick stretch cotton and the black and white colour combination it is as timeless as it is flattering. Well done Motel!
Although I would of loved to go all out and gone for a head-to-toe checked look with matching clutch and pair of heels I am not quite brave enough! Anyway, how fab do my white Alexander Wang inspired heels look against the monochrome?
Will this be a Fashion Week contender? I think so!
Well, Hannah, you were all too right; monochrome was ALL OVER Fashion Week. Keep an eye on this one, she knows her style savvy…
